2022 NW Jrs Beach Series (AVP America Tournaments)

NW Juniors Beach club will again host our very popular Junior Beach Series. Every participant in a Beach Series event will receive a NW Beach Series shirt the first time the play in one of our four series tournaments. All of the tournaments are AVP America events and players can earn bids and points towards National Championship events. But, beyond the National implications of our tournaments, each tournament in our series will be it's own "event" where players can play for prizes in multiple age groups and divisions. These tournaments are for players of all levels.  Players will earn points based on how they finish. Number of events played and how high you finish will determine your points.

Our Beach Series Final tournament is TBA for 2022 (If we host, it will be after Seaside).  If hosted, these will be our parameters:

  • Any player that finishes in the top 16 of their age divsion  point standings can play in the Open Division..
  • All other players will play in the Club Division at our Beach Final.
  • Open Division champions are our Tour Champions!

All tournaments will be part of the AVP America Series, so they will need an AVP Silver or Gold Membership to participate.

Each event will  be a 1-star Event and earn bids toward AVP Championship Events

Tournament Overview

There are a lot of changes happening on the beach this summer and we will be directly involved in hosting events on multiple platforms.

Our final schedule reflects a mix of AVP America, USA Beach, and p1440 Events.

  • Our AVP America series continues with events for players of all levels and an early August Final event.
  • We will again host USA Volleyball Beach National and Beach Regional Qualifiers which earn bids to the Jr Beach Championships in mid-July.
  •  The emergence of the p1440 platform led to a collaboration with NW Juniors, K-Beach, Kokua, and Dakine to host a series of events capped with a Tri-State Championship event in Spokane in mid-August..

We want to make it clear that while many of the events carry a "qualifier" nature to them, they are all open to anyone at any skill level. There is usually room for at least 12 teams at any age group (and up to 36 in some) so that brings a wide range of skill levels and goals. If you are just getting started on the beach, don't let the "qualifier" nature keep you from entering. In some cases we will also offer a  Novice division in our Queen of the Beach events to encourage those new to beach volleyball to participate. Every tournament is it's own opportunity for you (and your partner) to improve on the beach. Play in as many as your schedule allows!

Boys will be allowed to play in our Beach Series (AVP)

2022 Queen of the Beach and King of the Beach --

NW Juniors has included Queen of the Beach (QOB) and King of the Beach (KOB)  tournaments to our 2022 Beach Schedule.

Enter these events as an individual. Play several games with and against other individuals. This year, you will enter a division by your experience level:

  • Advanced: Players who have been playing beach for a few years and have participated in several tournaments. Players who consistently finish in the top 4-6 teams. Primarily all U18, top U16, top U14 looking for a challenge.
  • Intermediate: Players who have been playing beach for at least one summer and/or indoor club for a few seasons (this is your second or later summer of beach) who occasionaly play in tournaments and rarely finish in the top 4. Primarily U16 and top U14, top U12 looking for a challenge.
  • Novice, "New to Beach" : Players who are playing beach for the first time and/or U12-14 players that are just getting started in beach. Primarily U14 and U12.

We will set limits for each division as we get closer to each tournament.

Additional Information about QOB/KOB Tournaments:

  • You enter as an individual. Not with your partner.
  • We are trying to determine the one (1) Queen or King of the Beach, not a Team of the Beach :) that's what the doubles tournaments are for!
  • In this format you are paired with other individuals in a pool and play with & against each of the players in your pool. At the end of the pool the top two individuals move up, the bottom two move down. Then we play a new pool.
  • When space allows we will offer Novice Divisions for those new to Beach Volleyball.
  • Top individual player from the Gold Pool is Queen or the King of the Beach
  • It's a great, FUN format that gives the players a lot of play (up to 9 total games each for EVERYONE).
  • We split into separate divisions as we go and give awards in each division, so everyone has a chance to win something!

The top player is named Queen of the Beach or King of the Beach because somewhere along they way they might have to: Play right or left side; make a weak player stronger; figure out how to beat a better player on the other side of the net with their partner that they have never played with; Adjust, think, problem-solve, win.

Your safety is our priority, so no player should attend if they feel sick or have a temperature of 100.4F or higher. Please take your temperature before leaving your house for the tournament.
