NW Juniors Elite Travel Team.

Step one in the process is to tryout for NW Juniors Elite Travel Team. Players will be selected to our travel team via the tryout process. We expect to take 16-24 total athletes in each category: U12/U14 and U16/U18. We will use the skill level of those at tryouts to determine the total number of athletes we select. 

We encourage all those interested in our Elite Travel Team to  tryout to see where they rank among those interested. However, we ask that athletes and their families look at the practice, tournament, and travel schedules in determining whether or not they wish to take a spot on the Elite Travel Team.  (Scroll down for further details.)  [REGISTER for Elite Travel Team Tryouts]

TRYOUT DATES: All Age groups U12-U18.
*If a player is accepted on our Travel Team, then the Travel Team registration link will be e-mailed to you once you accept the offer.  *Offers for our Travel Team will be made AFTER the 2nd Tryout date (May 6th).
*If a player is not selected, then they are encouraged to choose a M/W or T/Th spot in our beach club.

Players only need to attend ONE of these tryout times.

U12/U14/U16/U18:

• Saturday, April 29, 2023; 11AM-1PM
• Saturday, May 6, 2023; 11AM-1PM

AAU membership ($14) is required for tryouts. Players must secure this membership before their first activity at our beach facility.  This is our basic membership which covers our athletes for Spring training, Beach Club Practices, and also AAU Beach Tournaments. This is information you need for 2023 so you can associate your membership with our club:

• If you participated in NW Juniors Fall Academy in 2022 then you already have AAU Membership from participating in it.  

• If you are a NW Juniors Indoor Club Member then most teams played in an AAU tournament during the club season so those players already have AAU Membership.  The EXCEPTION: 17UA Black, 17UA Blue, 15UA Black, 15UA Blue, Boys Teams.  If you played on one of these teams, then you will need to get AAU Membership.

NW Juniors Beach Club - ELITE Travel Team 

Beach Club Elite Travel Team-- Girls Only.  START DATE is week of May 8th (one-day week practice - player chooses day). Full 3-day practice schedule begins May 30; ends August 3, 2023  

• $2304* per person for NW Juniors Indoor Club Members
• $2560* per person for NON-NW Juniors Indoor Club Members

• Coaching at four NW Juniors tournaments. See list below.
• Uniform package  (see below)

*Not included: 

• Tournaments 
• AAU, AVP, P1440, or USAV Memberships. 
• Travel cost is not included in Beach Club dues.  Players will be billed separately for Tournament Travel Dues which include tournament entry and the cost of coaches (travel, hotel, salary, etc.). If you don't participate in a travel tournament, then you are not billed for it.  We do ask that you commit to at least 2 of the 3 travel tournaments. (Scroll down for more details.)

Payment structure*:

• A Deposit of $500 will be required up front upon enrollment and is non-refundable.
• Balance is due in full by May 20th

*The full amount is due at time of registration for enrollment on or after May 20th.

*Cancellation/Refund policy: no refund/no cancellation. Beach Club has limited membership; by completing the registration, a spot is being denied to another individual. Exception may be made for medical reasons only, a doctor's note is required and must be e-mailed to billing@nwvolleyball.com.  Request will be submitted to the Board of Directors for consideration. 

Two practice tees are included in the cost of registration for Beach Club.  In addition, those that are selected for our Elite Travel Team will be issued the following team gear (included in the travel teams club costs):

Our intention is to provide our Elite Travel Team athletes a higher level experience. Combining the training schedule, the travel events, as well as the "recommended" tournament schedule. We feel that those athletes that are looking for a better experience and "team" experiences will find that with our program.  As part of the Elite Travel Team, three additional memberships will be needed:

2. AVP America membership.  Beach Tournaments: AVP Beach Series events. It may also be needed to participate in one or more of our travel tournament.  Players must secure the Silver Level or greater of this membership to participate in our AVP Beach Series tournaments and it is good for 12 months.
3. USA Volleyball membership. Athletes that participate in indoor junior programming typically secure this membership as part of their participation.  For those that did not participate in an USAV indoor junior club, they can secure a "beach only" membership. This membership is required for the BNQ, BRQ, and some travel events to Oregon.
4. P1440 Membership (valid thru Dec 31, 2023). Beach Tournaments & Travel Tournaments

2023 Beach Club Season Dates: 

• First 1-day Practice begins the week of May 8th.  Player selects training day and time. (A second May practice day may be added at an additional charge.)
• First 3-day Practice begins: Tuesday, May 30, 2023; 6:30-8:30pm
• Last Practice: Thursday, August 3, 2023
• No practice Tuesday, July 4th.

Travel Tournaments Attendance

Travel tournament costs are not included in dues. If an athlete does not attend a travel tournament, then they are not billed for it. NW Juniors asks elite travel team athletes to make a best effort to attend two of the three travel events as their schedules allow. The benefits of the elite beach team extend beyond the travel tournaments themselves: 3 practice days per week as opposed to two; training alongside other elite travel members; working with more experienced beach coaches. If an athlete is invited to join the travel program, we feel their development as an athlete is better suited working alongside other athletes and coaches in this program.

Although NW Juniors offers local tournaments almost every weekend, these four tournaments we highly recommend our Elite Travel teams to register for these Qualifiers.  These tournaments are at NW Beach Volleyball (also known as Bottega Beach).

NW Juniors does not make travel arrangements for athletes and their families.  We encourage families to work together and secure their own travel arrangements.
